T8 & T5HO Fluorescent Fixtures
[Energy Savings ] Although they consume approximately 50% less energy, T8 and T5HO fixtures maintain a lumen output that is equal or greater than that produced by HID fixtures.
[ Instant-on Technology ] Unlike HID technology, T8 and T5HO systems do not require an initial warm up period. This instant-on technology allows occupancy sensors to be utilized for further energy savings.
[ High Color Rendition ] T8 and T5HO systems have a CRI of 85 or higher. This brings out all colors and has been shown to increase productivity and reduce eye fatigue. Typical HID have a CRI of below 70 and even as low as 22 (High Pressure Sodium).
[ Superior Lamp Life ] T8 and T5HO lamps are currently rated at 25,000 hours.
[ Color Temperature ] T8 and T5HO systems are offered in a variety of color temperatures from 3000K to 6500K. The human eye can more easily process light emitted at higher Kelvin temperatures. By providing light similar to sunlight, it provides a comfortable and natural environment.
[ Reduced Lumen Degradation ] T8 and T5HO systems have slower lamp degradation than metal halide or high pressure sodium, which equates to less time spent changing lamps to sustain light levels.
[ Cooler Operation ] HID systems create large quantities of heat while producing light. Alternatively T8 and T5HO remain cool when they generate light. The reduction in heat production results in a less hazardous environment and a decrease in cooling costs.
[ Reduced Glare ] Fluorescent fixtures produce less glare than HID, and thus provide a more comfortable and functional environment.
